Vidente (TVLogic) Filed Lawsuits against Postium Korea

Seoul, South Korea, October 11, 2017. - Vidente Co., Ltd. (KOSDAQ: 121800), the global leader of broadcast monitor supplier with TVLogic brand, announced that two lawsuits were filed against Postium Korea for violating the 'Unfair Competition Prevention and Trade Secret Protection Act'. (TVLogic hereafter refers to Vidente Co., Ltd)

In January 2017, TVLogic formally filed a suit against 'Postium Korea' and seven former TVLogic engineers for infringement of intellectual property rights. A special police investigation department was deployed to investigate the case, and in June 21 2017, the police raided the offices of 'Postium Korea' and 'OZO' to search and seize additional crime evidence based on previously collected evidence by in-depth investigation. OZO is a new small firm established in May 2016 where the seven former TVLogic engineers are developing monitors for Postium Korea based on an OEM contract.

It was revealed that Postium Korea and one of the former TVLogic engineers had discussions and agreed to develop broadcast monitors for Postium brand since May 2016. Six more TVLogic engineers joined OZO between July and September in 2016. It is suspected that these former employees were involved in illegal use of TVLogic's board design, software source codes, and various information on development and production since June 2016 (while employed by TVLogic). Two months later Postium/OZO introduced two new 12G-SDI 4K monitors at the IBC show in September 2016. Products of this caliber would require significantly longer research and development time.

In October 2017, the special police investigation department forwarded the case to the prosecutors' office with the investigation report of "All should be prosecuted (for violation of the law)". Added to this criminal suit, TVLogic has also filed a civil suit against Postium Korea and seven former TVLogic engineers to stop manufacturing and selling products that are suspected to be designed and manufactured by illegal use of TVLogic's intellectual property and company secrets. An additional suit will be filed for the compensation of all the loss and damages caused to TVLogic.
